Everything you’ve always wanted to know about our wines and our expertise.

Wines and Expertise

What types of wines do you produce at Vignobles Bertin?

We own nearly 43 hectares, including 35 hectares of vineyards, across various appellations, producing 7 different wines, across multiple vintages and formats.

We produce red, white, rosé, and sparkling rosé wines, stemming from family expertise and grape varieties typical of our region. Each cuvée reflects our commitment to quality, tradition, and innovation.

Which grape varieties do you cultivate, and how do they influence the taste of your wines?

We work with iconic grape varieties of the Bordeaux region, such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc for red wines, and Sauvignon and Sémillon for our white wine. Each variety brings its own aromas and personality to our wines.

How does the winemaking process work at your estate?

We control the entire process, from harvest to bottling, ensuring quality, traceability, and consistency.

The harvests are carried out at optimal ripeness, winemaking takes place in our modern winery (thermoregulated stainless steel and cement tanks), and pressing is done on-site.

Our unique winery consolidates all our appellations and wine types, optimizing our operations.

We use methods tailored to each wine, which you can discover in each technical sheet.

Are your wines certified or produced using sustainable practices?

We cultivate our vineyards using sustainable farming, with 5 hectares certified organic by Ecocert.

Since 2018, our environmental commitment has been part of the Environmental Management System and the CSR initiative “Cultivons Demain” by the CIVB.

We reduce inputs, promote biodiversity, and place wine quality and the well-being of our teams at the heart of our work.

How can I choose the wine that suits me from your cuvées?

Each wine is described in detail on our website with food and Bordeaux wine pairing suggestions. You can also contact us for personalized guidance.

What are your tips for properly storing your wines?

We recommend storing our bottles away from light, at a stable temperature around 15°C. Aging reds can develop positively over the years.

How should I taste your wines to fully enjoy them?

We recommend opening your wine bottle about 15 minutes before tasting.

For our Château Cardinal and Clos l’Hermitage cuvées, if the vintage is over six years old, we suggest decanting to fully release their aromas.

Do you offer wines in gift sets?

Yes, we offer a discovery gift set that allows you to try our entire range, as well as limited editions and special offers.

Is it possible to taste your wines and visit your winery?

Of course, we’d be delighted to welcome you on-site to introduce our range and show you our winery. Simply call us at 05 57 84 21 17 or contact us by email (contact@vignoblesbertin.com).
